Highfield Assistant (Gap Year) – Resident or Non-Resident – From September 2025 to July 2026
Overview of Role
Highfield Prep and Pre-School, part of the Harrogate Ladies’ College family of schools, is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Assistant to join the school on a fixed term basis from September 2025 until July 2026 although there may be the opportunity to extend this. This is an excellent opportunity for those thinking of undertaking a PGCE course or working with children in some other capacity in the future, or for graduates who wish to gain work experience in a school environment.
In this role you will primarily assist the teachers of Highfield Prep School working with pupils aged 5 to 11 years old, boys and girls. You will assist with the administration and smooth running of Sport in Highfield and undertake other duties in school as reasonably required which might include helping in the Before and After School Care provision in Highfield.
Please note that this is not a teaching role but a support role and you should expect to assist a teacher under supervision.
Accommodation can be provided on-site if required in a House with other staff. Food is provided when the kitchens are open during term-times.
