The Weekend Programme

Weekends at College are a really special and important time.  They are a time when girls can try new things; visit new places; develop new skills; build confidence; and strengthen friendships.  In addition to the wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities open to the girls, we also have a dedicated Weekend Programme.  The Weekend Programme is published at the beginning of each term and is open to day girls as well as boarders.

Each weekend and at least one evening each week there is an organised activity to join in with.  The choice of activities is wide and is designed to give everyone the chance to try something new and exciting.

We encourage all of our girls to take part in the Weekend Programme because it is such an important part of the overall experience of being a student at Harrogate Ladies’ College.  We also ask pupils for their input when designing the programme and to ensure that we implement and follow the C.A.R.E. structure:

C – Culture: including trips to the theatre, museums, art galleries and historic places around the UK such as the Lake District, York and London

A – Adventure: including visiting new places, exploring the area beyond Harrogate or taking part in hill walking, ice skating, go karting or an Escape Room.

R – Recreational: including visits to the cinema, restaurants, theme parks, pamper evenings, movie nights, shopping trips and even Harry Potter Studios!

E – Educational: including quiz nights, cultural evenings and museum visits to learn new facts, knowledge or skills.
