International Applications

Whilst remaining firmly a UK family of schools, we do welcome applications from international students.  We are proud of the cultural diversity of our school community, which currently includes more than 20 different nationalities.  For some of our international students joining us is an opportunity to improve their English and experience a different culture; while for others we provide the opportunity to study for UK qualifications (GCSE and A Levels), and gain access to leading UK universities.  Whatever the reason, all international students are fully integrated into our whole school community and fully enjoy our British boarding school experience.

Application Process

Each year we have a limited number of places available for international pupils to join us in College from the ages of 11 to 18 years.  International students can apply to join us in any year group (directly or via an agent), and will be asked to sit English and Maths papers as part of the application process.  All international applicants are also interviewed (by Skype where appropriate) by our Principal, Mrs Sylvia Brett.

We do ask that international students have an appropriate level of English for the year group they are applying to join, but above all we are looking for students who have a real passion for joining our school and integrating with our school community.

All non EU students are asked to have a guardian in the UK (we can assist with this where required).

International Scholarships

We have an International Scholarship Programme which offers a small number of scholarships each year to international students with an exceptional talent in a particular area including: Academic, Art, Music and Sport.  Scholarships offer students a range of benefits including:

  • A discount worth up to 15% of current Day Fees
  • A programme of special Scholars’ Events
  • Specialist mentoring by a teacher and Senior Scholar
  • Annual Scholars’ Dinner with the Principal

1 Year GCSE PROGRAMME

Each year we have a small number of places available for international students to join our 1 Year GCSE programme.  The 1 Year GCSE programme is open to students joining us in Year 11 and is excellent preparation for A level study.

Our 1 Year GCSE programme is fully integrated with our main school and students attend classes and live with our other Year 11 students.

Studying GCSEs in one year is very intense and students need to have a good level of English and a strong academic background to be successful.
