Harrogate Ladies’ College has appointed a new Academic Deputy Head to further enrich the school’s teaching and learning.
John Hamilton has moved to Yorkshire from Scotland to take up the post of Deputy Head Academic at the school this summer. He was previously the Head of Maths at Dollar Academy, a leading independent co-educational school in Clackmannanshire, Scotland.
Speaking about the appointment John said:

Harrogate Ladies’ College is exceptionally well thought of in the independent school sector based on the rigour of its academic teaching and strong pastoral care of its pupils. This is a key role within a diverse and creative senior school leadership team in the school.”
Brought up in Crieff in Perthshire, John studied in Edinburgh before moving into the education field.
Principal, Mrs Sylvia Brett said:
“John has a huge passion for learning and education and has great experience. This is an exciting role working in the heart of the school to take academic and operational responsibility as part of the overall development of the school and ensure the wellbeing of pupils is at the forefront of all decisions. John will make a great addition to the academic staff of whom I am so very proud.”
