Harrogate Ladies’ College Pupils Shine in House Music Spectacular
Team spirit and incredible talent took centre stage on Tuesday, as the pupils of Harrogate Ladies’ College stole the show in the annual House Music Competition.
Performing in their academic houses, pupils took full ownership of their house’s ensemble and wowed a capacity crowd with some amazing singing, choreography and instrumental performances.
Franklin House Captain, Tilly, is thrilled with her house’s efforts.
“We’ve been rehearsing for weeks, and it’s really nice to see everything come together,” Tilly said.
“Seeing everyone from different year groups come together and work toward a shared goal is really special.”
Upper 6’s special performance
In addition to the house music performances, the Upper 6 cohort staged a memorable tribute honouring their time at College together.
“We’ve really enjoyed putting the performance together,” Performing Arts Prefect, Gracie, said.
“Bringing the whole Upper 6 group together is really special. I’m incredibly proud of everyone for their hard work and dedication.”
Judges praise talent and teamwork
While Franklin took home the overall winners’ prize, Director of Music, Mrs Kate Morgan, was impressed by the standard of each house’s performance.
“There has been a huge amount of effort and teamwork evident in lots of rehearsals over the last few weeks,” Mrs Morgan said.
“With every single pupil involved, House Music is always a special night for our community.”
Mrs Morgan was joined by music teacher, Mr Dan Webster and Harrogate Ladies’ College alumna, Elle Kay-Coles, as judges.
