Claire, who was selected as Captain of the London 2012 GB Paralympic Sitting Volleyball Team just two years after taking up the sport, and has also been selected for Rio said,
“It was a real honour to be invited to Highfield to share my story and to hand out the prizes at Speech Day. The children have achieved some amazing things during the past year and I hope that they will be inspired by my journey to continue to work hard and find their place.”

Rachel Colbourn, Head of Highfield commented:
“We were delighted that Claire was able to speak to the children on Speech Day. She gave an inspirational talk about the importance of working hard to achieve goals and it was great for the children to hear how Olympians are not superhuman or brave, just normal people given the right support and opportunities.”
